Personal Development Point Goals #6

Thursday | October 29, 2015

This week I plan to finish editing the film I shot while I visited London City Centre. I have a lot of footage that needs editing and colour correcting so it looks as professional as possible. I have started the edit towards the end of the school holiday and to finish it off i need to stabilise the footage and trim everything down. This is the most time consuming process and I will have to allocate a lot of time to completing it around the work that I have been set in class.

Another goal I have set myself is to complete all of the improvements that my teacher has set in my business work. My teacher has marked this over the holidays and has set improvements for me to complete so I can get the best grade possible. This work needs to be completing as soon as possible in my free time so I am able to properly concentrate on the work that is currently being set.

The last goal I have been set is to complete a piece of work that I have not completed in ICT. I have to complete this as soon as possible so my teacher is able to mark it and be on top of the current work being set. If I don't complete this work as soon as possible I will get a missing deadline which will go on my record. It is very important that I avoid this as it will make me look bad when others are reviewing my current progress in school.

Personal Development Point Review #5.5

Wednesday | October 28, 2015

This week I have managed to complete all of my outstanding business work by asking my teacher what exactly I need to do. The work was very simple and I managed to complete everything quickly and efficiently so I was able to carry on with other tasks. I have also managed to improve all of the outstanding work that needed completing to the best of my ability. Because i managed to complete all of this work I was able to relax and have a but of a break compared to usual. This made me feel that a big weight that had been lifted off of my shoulders.

This weekend I also travelled down to London and I managed to take a lot of photos from my art project. This has improved the workload of my project greatly and will show the development of my project hopefully giving my a better grade. The development of my project will also be improved by the colour grading and the photoshopping that I will complete in the future. If I do this it will further show my skills in ICT.

Over the holidays I completed another goal that I had set for myself which was to complete the work that I had missed when I was off ill in the first few weeks. This work needed to be completed as it is part of the course and I cannot have work missing. A big advantage of getting this work done is i don't have to worry about it all in the future. Because I have done this I am not able to fully concentrate on the work that everyone else is currently working on in class.

Personal Development Point Goals #5

Thursday | October 22, 2015

This week I plan to complete all of my outstanding Business Studies work. I have to finish off a few little things to complete all of my work but the downfall to this is that it's very hard to figure out what I need to improve to get the higher grade/marks. I will also have to ask my teachers what I need to improve on so I can complete the section I am working on efficiently.

At the weekend I am traveling down to London City. Here I will work on taking photographs for my art project. Because London is a very big city it will be very easy to find things to photograph that will be relevant to my project. I will mainly be focusing on photographing old buildings and cars etc. There are many locations which will have a good amount of these types of buildings and cars.

Another goal I want to complete is all of my outstanding ICT work. I have this work to do because I was off for a few weeks due to illness, meaning I missed out on individual bits of work that I now have to catch up on. I aim to have this done and any other bits that I need to catch up on by the end of half term (one weeks time). The advantage of half term is that after I come back from London I will have plenty of time to get all of my tasks done as much as possible.

Personal Development Point Review #4.5

Wednesday | October 21, 2015

On the weekend I managed to shoot all of my preliminary task and edit it all in 2 days. I managed to borrow all of the equipment I needed and brought them back on Monday morning. The time set to meet was 10 o'clock and all of the shooting went well. I managed to edit all of the film in less than a day which is a big achievement as editing films normally takes a long time. My media teacher was very impressed with my outcome on the task.

When editing I managed to colour correct all of my footage and add the correct effects to create the effect I wanted the audience to see. By doing this I managed to make my film look very professional. I used my own editing style which also made it look very original. When stitching the film together I tried to make the footage match the beat of the music which made it look even more professional.

Throughout this week I have dedicated a lot of my free periods to getting artwork completed. I have managed to get a lot of it done which is a big achievement since it is very time consuming. I have also taken some photos of my trip to York and photo shopped them, which again shows my skills in ICT. However, I still have a lot of work to complete to the highest quality possible.

Personal Development Point Goals #4

Thursday | October 15, 2015

One of my main goals this week is to film and edit my media preliminary task. I have already spoken to my media teacher about borrowing equipment such as cameras, microphones and tripods. I will be taking them out of school at the weekend and bringing them back on Monday so that other people can use them during the week. I have arranged with parents and friends to go out on the Saturday to film all of the footage.

Another goal I need to complete is editing my Media preliminary task footage. After I have shot all of the footage, I will need to colour correct the clips and cut them down and order them so it looks as professional as I can make it. This all needs to be done by half term. The average amount of time it will take me to edit a video like this is around 3 to 4 hours. I will have to take extra time out of my free time to get this completed around all of my other work.

In the week 3 review I had stated that I have still not completed my planned piece of work. My goal for this week it to get as much done on it as possible, if not complete it. I am going to work towards this up until the weekend so I'm able to make time for my media work also. When I am not editing my Media video I am going to try and edit some photos I have taken for art in Photoshop. These are an important part to my project as they will show off my computer skills and design skills.

Personal Development Review #3.5

Wednesday | October 14, 2015

For my work experience this week I went to the computer store and found out that they only open at 10:00 am. This will not allow enough time to do some work experience and get to school on time since I will have to be in lesson at 11:20 at the very latest. However, the computer store may say I can go in for an hour but it's very doubtful since not much can be completed in that amount of time.

Throughout the week I have manages to complete all of my Business Studies work so it's up to date. I asked about the questions I was stuck on and I managed to complete the work with a good understanding of what I was doing.

Because I managed to complete this work I was also able to do a lot of extra artwork in my free time to meet a deadline that has been set for the end of term. I have nearly completed my planned out piece of work so I will also be able to hand it in before the end of term. The reason for me not completing this work just yet is that I need to complete other pieces around the bigger piece of work so I can get more work done. One of the main reasons for doing this is so I don't bet bored of a piece of work because I've been working on it for such a long period of time. if I do lots of pieces of work at once, I'm always doing something new so I never get bored.

Personal Development Point Goals #3

Thursday | October 8, 2015

This week I plan to go into a local computer store near the school and ask if I'm able to do job experience there. This would hopefully involve fixing and repairing computers, troubleshooting problems that people may have with their computers and virus removal. These skills would help me in later life if I ever go into this sort of industry and want to build custom computers etc.

Another goal I am trying to complete is Business Studies work. In this subject I am planning my own business and am stuck on some of the questions I have to do for the coursework. Some examples of the tasks I need to complete would be finding out how much money I would need to loan and how much the company would cost to start up. Because I have no understanding of how to do this I will need it explaining to me so I'm able to complete the work given.

My final goal for this week is to carry on working on a piece of work I have planned out. normally I give up half way though a piece of work because I think its not good enough to be put in my coursework. My goal is to stick with this piece if work and have it completed without being rushed. This is very important because if I don't complete any of my work, I will not achieve the grade I want to have in the subject.

Personal Development Point Review #2.5

Wednesday | October 7, 2015

This week I have managed to complete the drawing have been working on in Art and started other work that has to be completed for the course. I have planned out my next drawing on Photoshop and am now in the process of adding the detail in pencil.

In my media work I have managed to complete all three bits of the film analysis. This will help me in creating my final piece as I will understand what professional films have in their in their title sequence scenes. The pieces have been looked at and are approved by my teacher for the quality and content of the pieces.

The weather at the weekend was not suited to the setting of the scene I wanted to shoot, meaning I wasn't able to go out and film the scene to complete the task. However, this task will be completed shortly when I re-acquire the correct equipment to film the scene as I don't possess the resources to shoot it on my own.

Personal Development Point Goals #2

Thursday | October 1, 2015

This week I am going to aim to complete the latest drawing I have been working in Art, along with any other work that's unfinished. I am aiming to do this because one of the goals I wasn't able to achieve last week is completing the rest of my artwork.

Another goal I am aiming to complete is my Media work. The task that has been set is to analyse three movie opening scenes for the research and planning for our final piece. The final piece is to create a 2 minute movie opening scene with the titles. So far I have completed one opening title scene analysis which means I have two left to complete. both of these tasks should take around an hour to complete.

The last goal I have set myself for this week is to film my preliminary task scene over the weekend. (This can only be completed if the weather is correct for the weather conditions I want to feature in my movie). The film will involve somebody walking though an entrance, talking to someone, and camera techniques such as the 180 degree rule. This technique means that you only film your subjects across a 180 degree angle. The easiest way to do this is to pretend there is an invisible line on the ground, and to never go over it. Another technique I will need to include is the "shot reverse shot" this will involve two or more characters having a conversation. An example of this would be to film a shot over the shoulder of a subject and then a shot of the subject facing the other character, having the conversation.
